Our mission is to reduce stress about money.
We hear people say all the time “I'm not great with money…” but the reality is, financial systems are not designed to be easy for ordinary people.
Bills come from all over the place, on dates we can't control. Everything's on subscription. Keeping track of what needs to be paid for, when is pretty hard for the humble human brain. Most personal finance apps require a whole lot of set up – and still feel like they were made for accountants.
We think this needs to change. We're a bunch of human-centered techies who think there should be more to life than just getting by – and that you shouldn't have to be a mathematician to understand your finances, feel in control and start to get ahead.
The launch of Open Banking in New Zealand is all about giving power to the people to use their own financial data as they wish, and make your own choices about the apps and systems you want to use to help run your life.
Smoothy organises everything into a more human way of thinking that is simple and fits into your life, while still being based on tried and tested money management techniques.
